Norman Findlay was a Senior Partner at the law firm of Bennett Jones LLP for over a decade. Prior to that, Mr. Findlay spent 25 years as a Partner at Cassels, Brock & Blackwell LLP and at Fasken Martineau DuMoulin. Mr. Findlay primarily engaged in securities law with an emphasis on public offerings of securities, mergers and acquisitions, and takeovers. His practice also involved concurrent offerings of debt and equity securities, mining law and general corporate transactions. Mr. Findlay acted for Katanga Mining Limited, in its $7.6-billion rights offering financing backstopped by Glencore, and for the Special Committee of Central Gold Trust, in Sprott Asset Management’s $1-billion hostile takeover bid for all the outstanding Units of Central Gold Trust.
